Our love for film sits on a foundation of inspiration and a yearning to immortalise a legacy of love. A bated breath, a flicker of lust and the unabashed, oh-so-human emotion that comes with finally saying I Do, propels our imagination and allows us to push the boundaries of creativity. When we get asked what inspires us, so many vivid memories rush to the forefront, sustained only by nostalgic films and treasured photographs.

Joel’s dad Frank passed away when he was just a teenager, so rewatching the 8mm film footage he took of New York City, San Francisco and Yellowstone National Park transports us straight to 1958, never failing to twitch a sentimental smile in Joel.

Settling in to rewatch my own parents’ wedding film is like a catapult straight down memory lane: the hundreds of bright pink balloons decorating their reception venue seem to dance in time with their crazy-in-love smiles.

The editing style of classic 1940s and 50s cinema film romances us every time with its soft, wistful feel and grainy textures. I cannot go past a marathon of Casablanca, Rear Window and An Affair to Remember; it’s classic romance at its’ best.

“I love watching my parents’ wedding video. My dads 80s moustache and mums’ classic veil-hat combo never ceases to coax a smile. There’s just something so intimately special about watching them fall in love with each other some 40 years ago. I mean, how else could you step back in time if they hadn’t of filmed it?”

You are seen, you are heard.

Nothing is forever. Or is it?

We ditched the script; it is your wedding day.

This means we take a conscious approach to capturing the essence and emotion of your wedding day. It begins with the planning, where we invest as much time as humanly possible into getting to know the two of you as a couple and how you envision your wedding day unfolding.

Having such an intimate understanding of your wedding day vision shapes the editing process and our selection of clips, molding the final film into a deeply personal recollection of your day which will be passed down for generations to come.

Joel and I are intentional filmmakers.

You are seen, you are heard.

Nothing is forever. Or is it?

We ditched the script; it is your wedding day.

We like to think of film as a time capsule which outlives the moment. It exists to be watched and rewatched, breathing life back into the day you promised to love each other endlessly.

Your wedding film becomes a looking glass for future generations and oftentimes remains the only tangible recollection in your library of memories. Nothing is forever, except in film.

A wedding is never just a wedding. In the same light, a wedding video is never just a wedding video.

You are seen, you are heard.

Nothing is forever. Or is it?

We ditched the script; it is your wedding day.

Our perfect loved-up couple wants their wedding day to take centre stage and appreciate our no-posing approach to film.

With ample experience making ourselves invisible*, we allow the day to unfold as you have planned it, capturing the quiet exchanges and subtle interactions, before bringing it all together in the post-wedding editing process.

*Truly embodying "fly-on-the-wall" means we keep our gear minimal and work closely with your photographer to create a seamless production.

We are candid storytellers and candid cannot unfold if bossed around by a script.
